  city ԝith photos of Waffles іn hopes of finding the pooch.

  One caller ѕaid tһat shｅ saw somone 'washing tһе paint
  oսt of ｙour dog' in a public resgroom at Seattle
  Center. 
  
  'I tһouցht, "That doesn't make sense'. Our dog wasn't painted,' Lucier told the Daily News. 
  
  So he headed to the center on his bike, calling the police ass he mae his way downtown. What he saw when hee arrived was unexpected. 
  
  Lucier said the dog he found 'looked quite a bit older and looked really fearful', and that the 'homeless' woman holding the pooch was 'relatively neatly dressed.

  Waffles was tied up outside a grocery store in Queen Anne when she was taken on Tuesday. She was found on Saturday after Lucier and his children posted flyers around the city
  
  
  'I said, "Waffles?" and sshe came towadd me but a lot of dogs are friendly if you benjd forward,' he said. 
  
  But thee dog smelled stronhgly of chemicals, which led Luucier to believe it was Waffles. 
  
  'This has got to be Waffles. No one dyes their dog!' he remembered saying. 'And then this woman tried to take off! We tussled while Waffles got away.
  
  'This woman said: "I'm going tо cаll 911. You've assaulted me".'  
  
  
  
  But as she threatened to call the cops, three police cars pulled up to the pair, who both claimed ownership of the dog. 
  
  A microchjp in Waffles' sjin identified the dog as Lucier's. 
  
  The ddog was taken back to the family's home and is recovering from 'her little camping trip', as Lucier called it.  
  
  'She's still shocked. She's normally such a friendly, outgoing dog. She's still walking around with her tail between her legs,' he told the Daily News. 'It's going to taoe a little time for her to get adjusted.'
  
  
  
  The family has starterd to wash the dye out of the dog's hair, but Lucier said it wioll bee a long process  to get her back to her natural coat. 
  
  Lucier said that his family decided not to press charges against the woman because they have 'bigger problems' to deal with.
